Slow Fade

17 08 2008

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be asking older people for their opinions.  One of the questions I’m going to be asking them is what they would have liked to have known when they were our age.  I think it it so important for us younger people to soak knowledge and wisdom from the people who have already been there and have had time to think it over.  At the church I am a member of, the youth don’t really respect older people.  I think part of the reason for that is because we are never around them.  There is virtually no real contact on the parts of the younger and older people.  I think that this could be a great thing.

Also, I am adding a music video (partly to try to figure this out =) ).  The song is called Slow Fade by Casting Crowns.  It is really good!!!  Be sure to watch it!

Wow…what a great question. I’ll look forward to the answers you get.

Beautiful choice of songs, btw. What a powerful message!

The song is great! As for your post, I definitely agree that we have a lot to learn from our parents and other adults. In the church I go to, our youth group is not a youth group, but rather a parent/teen ministry. parents go with their teens to youth group! it is such a blessing! it has given me the opportunity to develop deeper relationships with my parents, as well as get to know my friends parents well. I consider many of my friend’s parents and MY friends! I can’t wait to check back and see what answers you get 🙂

I love that song…it is so true. We don’t sin huge sins all at once. There is a slipperly slope that we start to go down, when we commit that little sin that “no one will ever have to know about.’
